The Diabolus in Musica ensemble is recruiting:


A person in charge of administration, dissemination, cultural actions

from January 2022

Description of structure:

Since 1992, the wholeDiabolus in Musicaexplores a musical repertoire from the Middle Ages under the artistic direction of Antoine Guerber; from January 2022,Nicolas Sansarlatwill lead the whole. During its thirty years of existence, the ensemble has acquired a radiant reputation in France and abroad by drawing on more than five centuries of an essential and astonishing musical heritage. Concerts, shows, recordings, educational interventions, conferences, university links are the axes of sharing and dissemination of the whole for all audiences. The programs offered primarily involve two to eight vocal and instrumental artists.

The set isbased in Tours. It is approved by the Region and the DRAC Centre-Val de Loire, and subsidized by the city of Tours and the Department Council of Indre-et-Loire.


Under the authority of the artistic director and the board of directors, and in close collaboration with an employee in charge of production, (international) distribution and communication, the person in charge of administration, distribution, cultural actions will carry out the following assignments:


Missions and corresponding activities.

1 Administrative and financial management of the whole

  • detects calls for projects, expressions of interest and proposes them to the board of directors

  • prepares and animates the board of directors, presents the provisional budget to the board of directors

  • management of the associative life of the whole (members / general assembly / activity reports / license renewals)

  • ensures appointments with the supervisory authorities in the presence of the artistic director

  • drafts and monitors grant applications from public and private funders, reports to them on the use of allocated funds

  • search for additional sources of funding: foundations, patrons, etc.

  • establishes and signs contracts with broadcasters, suppliers and artists

  • management of the recruitment of trainees, service and apprentices in agreement with the board of directors

  • publishes and monitors invoicing, checks receipts, makes the necessary reminders

  • establishes the provisional budgets and by action, ensures their execution and monitoring

  • manages relations with the chartered accountant and the auditor

  • manages relations with banks, record companies, insurance companies, FEVIS and the Profedim union.

2 Implementation of distribution in France and abroad

  • is proactive in terms of distribution strategy

  • initiates any promotional action: reminders, maintenance of the database

  • ensures appointments with professionals, negotiates according to the price list defined upstream.

3 Implementation of cultural actions

  • is a source of proposals for cultural actions

  • seeks opportunities for collaboration with schools

  • negotiates and drafts partnership agreements depending on the projects.

Other tasks

  • telephone reception at the association's headquarters

  • active collaboration in good understanding and intelligence with the person in charge of production, distribution and communication

  • small handling related to the activities of the whole (purchase of supplies, archiving, etc.)

  • attendance at concerts, holding the ticket office, welcoming the public.


Expected skills

  • you have a good knowledge of live performance, an affinity with early music is essential

  • you have solid technical skills in terms of financial, social and legal management,

  • you are at ease both in writing and orally and do not hesitate to be proactive during the various meetings,

  • a first experience in cultural administration is required

  • Fluency in English (oral and written) preferred

  • IT: Office Pack suite, mastery of DTP software

  • sense of organization and priorities, responsiveness, flexibility and autonomy

  • listening skills, ability to negotiate with multiple interlocutors

  • sense of teamwork, discernment, benevolence and diplomacy.



  • Full-time CDI

  • Possibility of working in the evening and some weekends with hourly recuperation in the following month.

  • Position based in Tours (37) with travel to production sites.

  • Remuneration according to the CCNEAC scale and according to experience.
