As part of the celebrations to mark the 600th anniversary of the birth of King Louis XI, the city of Tours programmed our concert on the chansonniers of the Loire Valley.
Our loyal audience in Tours were able to listen to this skilful repertoire of polyphonic songs taken from the magnificent manuscripts of the Loire Valley. The voices of Axelle Bernage, Alban Robert, Raphaël Boulay and Romain Bockler conveyed all the sensibility required for this literature set to music, which was admired in the 1470s. The rare and astonishing sounds of the clavichytherium, rebec and vielle played by Freddy Eichelberger and Nicolas Sansarlat enhanced this refined musical universe.
