"In common, stories that have passed through time, transmitted orally in manuscripts, and reinterpreted today by learned artists who never cease to search (and find) these traces so alive and fragile of our past, essential to the constitution of our identity.
The songs of the two repertoires were born on the roads, they traveled with pilgrims, soldiers, workers and craftsmen, they tell us about encounters, exiles, returns, impossible loves. Because that is what it is all about: stories (some based on real and often terrible facts), sources of memory, which are told to us today as they were a long time ago and which touch us with as much acuity (and perhaps even more) than if they had been invented yesterday.
The musical language is very accessible and relies on the voice, supported by a simple and flattering instrumentarium. Thus the ensemble will consist of 2 instrumentalists (Diabolus in Musica), 2 singers (Diabolus in Musica) and Marthe Vassallo. The artists will move from one repertoire to another with ease and naturalness as the musical choices blend perfectly.
