"The program covers in songs and ducts the eventful and passionate life of King Richard, in langue d'oïl and langue d'oc."

King Richard, one of the great chivalrous kings of our Middle Ages, profoundly marked the history of England and France. The fight against his father, his crusade, his stay in prison, his incredible escape and his incessant battles have left him with the image of a fierce, tireless and colorful soldier.

 

But Richard lives in an era that sees the apogee of feudalism and its brand new artistic and musical expressions, in the courtyards of castles or in monasteries: the tropes, the polyphonic ducts, the love songs of troubadours and found.

 

This king with a strong character, often angry, is also a fine scholar, his mother Eleanor took care to make him an educated man: he masters several languages and, better, he knows how to compose, as has become the fashion, beautiful songs...
